- An easy hiking experience onto Mottarone Mount
- A panoramic trekking
- Amazing natural landscapes between Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta
- The Alpinia Garden
Meeting with a private licensed tourist and hiking guide at Stresa. Transfer onto Mottarone Mount (1492 m. a.s.l.) by cable-way. A first stop at Alpinia, a rich botanic garden, which was opened in 1934 during the Fascist period. The garden, at an altitude of 800 meters, is very interesting thanks to its huge collection of botanic species from the Alps and the Alpine foothills, as well as from the Caucasus, China and Japan. The most valuable plants are specimens of trees and shrubs, some of which are uncommon. It includes a wetland area for aquatic plants. Then, on to the top of the mountain, situated between the two lakes (Orta and Maggiore), where you will enjoy a soft trekking activity, thanks to which you will admire a breathtaking panorama, which sweeps from the Borromean Gulf to the chain of the Swiss Alps. Finally, you will enjoy a typical lunch in a hut.
Back to Stresa by cable-way.
