Arrival of guests and accommodation at a central-located hotel overlooking Lake Maggiore.
h. 03.30 PM meeting at the lobby of the hotel with a private licensed tourist and hiking guide. Transfer onto Mottarone Mount (1492 m. a.s.l.) by cable-way. On the mountain, situated between the two lakes (Orta and Maggiore), you will enjoy a brief walk, thanks to which you will admire a breathtaking panorama, which sweeps from the Borromean Gulf to the chain of the Swiss Alps. A stop at a mountain retreat for a special tasting based on local products such as cheese, salami and wines. Back to Stresa by cable-car. Time at your leisure for individual dinner. Overnight.
21st April 2019 – day n. 02
Breakfast at the hotel.
h. 9.30 AM Meeting at the lobby of the hotel with a private licensed tourist guide. A pleasant cruise on Lake Maggiore by private taxi boat to enjoy the panoramic view of the Borromean Gulf and of its jewels. First stop at Isola Madre, in order to enjoy a guided visit to the largest island, fully covered with a botanic garden, rich in rare plants and exotic flowers where peacocks, parrots and pheasants live. Dock on Isola dei Pescatori (Fishermen’s Island) and time for a pleasant walk along its narrow lanes, discovering cute corners and shops. Individual lunch.
Dock on Isola Bella (Beautiful Island), the best-known among the Islands of the Borromean Gulf. Between XVI and XVII century Charles III Borromeo dedicated himself to build a Baroque style palace and named the island Isabella, in honour of his wife, Isabella D’Adda. His son Vitaliano VI created the wonderful garden in baroque style with its ten blooming terraced gardens enriched with basins, fountains, water sprays architectural perspectives and a multitude of statues. Back to the hotel by private taxi-boat, late in the afternoon. Time at your leisure for individual dinner. Overnight.
22nd April 2019 – day n. 03

h. 9.30 AM Peaceful cruise to Verbania private taxi-boat. A walking guided tour to Villa Taranto for its botanic gardens, which cover an area of about 18 hectares on the promontory of Castagnola. They were projected by Neil McEacharn, a Scotsman captain, between 1931-1940. You will wander through the English landscaped gardens filled with exotic plants and rare species. The gardens are famous for their huge rhododendrons but they are laid out with plants of interest for all seasons of the year.
Back to the hotel. End of services.
